Desk Report :: A fine all-round performance by bowlers and fielders lifted Bangladesh to a series-levelling 218-run win over the Zimbabwe in the second and final match of a two-match Test series at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
Right-arm spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz took 5 for 38 to finish with eight wickets in the match as Zimbabwe were bowled out for 224.
Bangladesh declared their second innings for 224/6 and set a target of 443 runs for Zimbabwe on the Day 4. The second Test of the two-match series began at Mirpur on Sunday.
Zimbabwe won the first Test at Sylhet.
Earlier, Bangladesh declared the second innings at tea break with a 442-run lead, widening it from overnight score of 218.
The host side declared both the innings of the match – 224/6-d in the second innings and 522/7-d in the first innings — putting up a world record chase to Zimbabwe.
