ব্রিটবাংলা ডেস্ক : ইংল্যান্ডের পোর্টস মাউথের একটি রেষ্টুরেন্ট থেকে টেইকওয়ে ডেলিভারি দেওয়া হয়েছে ফ্রান্সে। পোর্টস মাউথের আকাশ রেষ্টুরেন্ট থেকে একটি প্রাইভেট প্লেনের মাধ্যমে প্রায় ৫শ মাইল দূরে ফ্রান্সের বোরডিয়েক্স শহরে এই টেকওয়ে ডেলিভারি দেওয়া হয়।
বিভিন্ন মাধ্যমে প্রকাশিত সংবাদ থেকে জানা গেছে, পোর্টস মাউথের আকাশ রেষ্টুরেন্টের নিয়মিত কাস্টমার রয় বোচান সূদুর ফ্রান্স থেকে ৩২ পাউন্ডের তার প্রিয় পনির কড়াই এবং নানসহ অন্যান্য খাবার অর্ডার দেন। তার অর্ডার রেডি করে রেষ্টুরেন্টের ম্যানেজার ফাজ আহমদ হ্যাম্পশায়ারের লি-অন-দ্যা সলেন্ট থেকে একটি জেট নিয়ে প্রায় ৫শ মাইল দূরে ফ্রান্সের বরডিয়েক্সে তা ডেলিভারি দিয়ে আসেন শনিবার। সেখানে খাবারকে পুনরায় গরম করে সঙ্গী সাথিদের নিয়ে কারি নাইটের আয়োজন করেন ৪৯ বছর বয়সী রয়।
এবারই প্রথম নয়, এর আগে ২০১৪ সালের ক্রিস্টমাসে আকাশ রেষ্টুরেন্ট থেকে প্রায় ১শ ৫ পাউন্ডের খাবার অর্ডার দিয়ে ফ্রান্সের নিজ বাড়িতে নিয়ে ছিলেন রয় বোচান। তিনি মূলত আগে পোর্টস মাউথের অধিবাসি ছিলেন।
Portsmouth restaurant delivers takeaway curry to France
An Indian restaurant has chartered a private plane to deliver curry to 30 expats in France.
The 500-mile journey from Lee-on-the-Solent in Hampshire to Bordeaux was completed on Saturday.
Roy Buchan, a loyal customer of the Akash curry house in Portsmouth, chartered a plane from Lee-on-Solent in Hampshire to Bordeaux, France just so he could enjoy a curry from his favourite Indian restaurant. The £32-a-head order, which also included paneer korai and a naan, was cooked in Portsmouth and then re-heated in France as Buchan and 49 of his buddies scoffed it down as part of a curry night at the Bordeaux-Saucats aerodrome.
It’s not the first time that Buchan’s desire for a familiar curry has hit the headlines. The former Portsmouth resident took £105 worth of Indian takeaway from the Akash to his home in France for Christmas dinner in 2014. Perhaps a holiday in India should be on the cards?
