ব্রিটবাংলা ডেস্ক : গত এক বছর ধরে কমিউনিটির মানুষের সর্বাত্মক সমর্থন ও সহমর্মিতা প্রকাশের জন্যে নর্থ লন্ডনের ইজলিংটন বারার ফিন্সবারি পার্ক মসজিদের সামনে ভেন হামলায় নিহত মকরাম আলীর পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে কৃতজ্ঞতা জানানো হয়েছে। বুধবার ফিন্সবারি পার্ক মসজিদের সামনে বিশাল ইফতার পার্টিতে মরহুমের মেয়ে রোজিনা আখতার আখতার তার পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করেন। গত বছরের ১৯ জুন তারাবী নামাজ শেষে ঘরে ফেরার সময় সাদা সন্ত্রাসী ডেরন অসবোর্নের ভেন চাপায় নিহত হয়েছিলেন ৬ সন্তানের জনক ৫১ বছর বয়সী মকরম আলী।
স্ট্রীটে বিশাল ইফতার পার্টিতে বিভিন্ন ধর্মীয়, কমিউনিটি, রাজনৈতিক লিডার, লেবার ও টোরি এমপিসহ বিপুল সংখ্যক সাধারণ মানুষ উপস্থিত ছিলেন। চ্যারিটি সংগঠন মুসলিম এইড, মুসলিম ওয়েলফেয়ার হাউস এবং ফিন্সবারি পার্ক মস্ক এই ইফতার পার্টির আয়োজন করে। এতে লেবার লিডার জেরেমি করবিন, টোরি এমপি এনা সুবেরী, সাবেক এ্যাটর্নি জেনারেল ডমিনিক গ্রেইভ এবং নিহত মকরম আলীর মেয়ে রোজিনা আখতার বক্তব্য রাখেন।

বাবার মর্মান্তিক মৃত্যুর পর গত এক বছরে তাদের পরিবারের প্রতি সমর্থন ও সহমর্মিতা প্রকাশের জন্য সবার প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা জানান রোজিনা আখতার। কান্নাজড়িত গলায় তিনি বলেন, গত বছর রামাদানে এই মসজিদের সামনেই তারা তাদের বাবাকে হারিয়েছেন। এই দিনটি তাদের জন্যে খুবই বেদনা দায়ক। সবার সমর্থন ও সহমর্মিতায় বাবা হারানোর শোক কাটিয়ে উঠার চেষ্টা করছে তাদের পরিবার। মর্মান্তিক সেই দিনটি স্মরণে এতো সংখ্যক মানুষের উপস্থিতিতে বিশাল এই ইফতার পার্টি আয়োজনের জন্যও কৃতজ্ঞতা জানান রোজিনা আখতার। প্রয়াত বাবাসহ পরিবারের সবার জন্যে দোয়া কামনা করেন তিনি।
অনুষ্ঠানে লেবার লিডার জেরেমি করবিন বলেন, এটা নিত্যান্তই হত্যাকান্ড ছিল। স্ট্রীটে সবার সামনে বর্ণবাদী হামলা চালিয়ে হত্যা করা হয়েছে। কিন্তু এই হামলায় কমিউনিটির মানুষ আরো ঐক্যবদ্ধ হয়েছে। কমিউনিটি এখন আগের চাইতে আরো বেশি শক্তিশালি এবং ঐক্যবদ্ধ। আজকের বিশাল ইফতার পার্টিই তার প্রমাণ। ঐক্যবদ্ধ কমিউনিটি কাছে যে কোনো ধরনের সন্ত্রাসী বা বর্ণবাদী হামলা পরাজিত হবে। বর্ণবাদকে কখনোই জয়ী হতে দেওয়া হবে না বলে দৃঢ় প্রতীজ্ঞা করেন লেবার লিডার জেরেমি করবিন।
বক্তব্য শেষে স্ট্রীটে সাধারণ রোজাধারীদের সঙ্গে বসে ইফতার করেন লেবার লিডার জেরেমি করবিন।
উল্লেখ্য লেবার লিডার জেরেমি করবিনের নির্বাচনী এলাকা ফিন্সবারি পার্ক মসজিদে শ্বেতাঙ্গ বর্ণবাদী ডেরনের অসবোর্নের ভেন হামলায় আরো অন্তত ১২ জন আহত হয়েছিলেন। মুসলিম হত্যার উদ্দেশ্যে কার্ডিফের বাসিন্দা সাদা ডেরন দুটি মসজিদে হামলার চেষ্টা করেছিলেন।

Community gathers to remember Finsbury Park terror attack
The daughter of a father-of-six killed in the Finsbury Park attack has thanked those who supported her family in the year since the tragedy.
Some of those who were injured when Darren Osborne rammed a van onto a crowded pavement shortly after midnight on June 19 last year gathered in commemoration near the scene of the attack.
Faith leaders joined the area’s MP Jeremy Corbyn, former attorney general Dominic Grieve and his Conservative Party colleague Anna Soubry at the event which also sought to celebrate the community spirit which emerged in the wake of the atrocity.
Jobless loner Osborne deliberately targeted Muslims who had gathered outside two mosques in the area during the holy month of Ramadan.
Makram Ali was killed in the incident in north London which left 12 others injured.
Wednesday’s gathering, organised by the Muslim Welfare House, Finsbury Park Mosque and the charity Muslim Aid, was held to mark one year since the incident, according to the lunar calendar observed in the Islamic faith.
Among the speakers were Ruzina Akhtar, daughter of 51-year-old Mr Ali, who said her family remains grateful for the community’s support following her father’s murder.
With her voice breaking, she said: “I’ve been asked to say a few words but I’m overwhelmed today a little bit.
“Although last year was a very tragic event for our family that took our beloved father from us, we would like to remember the positives that came out from those days with the community showing love and support.
“And we would just like to thank everyone for their support and the love that they’ve shown and hope they continue to do so.
“And please just keep us in your duas (prayers).”
Recalling Osborne’s rampage and the community’s reaction, Mr Corbyn said: “It was murder on the streets of our community, and our response was to come together as a community, to come together of all faiths, and come together and show we will not be divided, we will not be defeated, the racists will never win, we will never allow them to win.”
At sunset, just after 9pm, Mr Corbyn joined those gathered for a feast as crowds sat in the street to enjoy the breaking of their fast.#Shropshire Star#
