ব্রিটবাংলা রিপোর্ট : ইস্ট লন্ডনের শেডওয়েল হাইস্ট্রীটে একটি গাড়ি দুর্ঘটনায় ২৬ বছর বয়সী এক ব্যক্তি নিহত হয়েছেন। পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, মঙ্গলবার ভোর সাড়ে ৪টার দিকে শেডওয়েল হাইস্ট্রীটে ( ডেলো স্ট্রীটের কোনায়) একজন পথচারীকে আহত অবস্থায় পাওয়া যায়। ৫টার দিকে ঘটনাস্থলেই তিনি মৃত্যুবরণ করেন। ঘটনার পরপরই ঘটনার সঙ্গে সংশ্লিষ্ট সন্দেহভাজন গাড়িটি পালিয়ে যায়।
বিপজ্জনক ড্রাইভিংয়ের ফলে এই ঘটনা ঘটে থাকতে পারে বলে সন্দেহ করছে স্কটল্যান্ড ইয়ার্ড । তবে ঘটনার সঙ্গে সংশ্লিষ্ট সন্দেহে ৩জনকে আটক করেছে পুলিশ। তাদের বয়স ১৮ থেকে ১৯ বছরের ভেতরে। তাদেরকে ইস্ট লন্ডনের একটি পুলিশ স্টেশনে রেখে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করা হচ্ছে। এই ঘটনার ব্যাপারো কোরো কোন তথ্য জানা থাকলে তা পুলিশকে অবহিত করতে এবং মোবাইলে ধারণ করা কোনো ফুটেজ থাকলে তা দিয়েও সহযোগিতা করতে আহ্বান জানিয়েছে পুলিশ। এ ব্যাপারে ০২০ ৮৫৯৭ ৪৮৭৪ অথবা ০৮০০ ৫৫৫ ১১১ নাম্বারে টেলিফোন করতে পরামর্শ দিয়েছে পুলিশ।
Man killed in road incident at The Highway in Shadwell
Police and ambulance paramedics arrived at the incident at 4.30am in The Highway in Shadwell, on the corner of Dellow Street, where they found the 26-year-old pedestrian who was pronounced dead at the scene at 5pm.
A vehicle involved didn’t stop at the scene, say police. Three youths have since been arrested on “suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving”, Scotland Yard has confirmed.
The youths, aged 18 and 19, were taken to an east London police station where they remain at this time.
