Buckingham Palace suspect ‘meant to go to Windsor Castle but got address wrong’

Mohiussunnath Chowdhury left his home in Luton and typed Windsor Castle into his sat nav, but ended up outside a pub in the town.

After the sat nav error it is alleged he then went to Buckingham Palace with the 4ft blade and is now facing trial for planning a terror attack.

He allegedly wrote a suicide note to his sister that said: ‘By the time you read this Insha’Allah I will be with Allah.’

He added: ‘The Queen and her soldiers will all be in the hellfire they go to war with Muslims around the world and kill them without any mercy.

Chowdhury, 26, was detained after allegedly driving towards a marked police car in a blue Toyota Prius on Constitution Hill at around 8.30pm on Friday.

Police said he reached for the sword and yelled ‘Allahu Akbar’ as he was tackled by officers and sprayed with CS gas. Three officers suffered minor injuries during the arrest.

The defendant appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, charged with one count of preparing to commit an act or acts of terrorism.

During the short hearing, the defendant, from Luton, was told his case would next be heard at the Old Bailey on September 21.

He was remanded in custody. No members of the royal family were in Buckingham Palace when Chowdhury was arrested.
