ব্রিটবাংলা ডেস্ক : বার্মিংহ্যামের সলিহলে ৪৯ বছর বয়সী মা ও ২২ বছর বয়সী মেয়ে ছুরিকাঘাতে মর্মান্তিকভাবে মৃত্যুবরন করেছেন।
ওয়েস্ট মিডল্যান্ডস পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, রোববার রাত ১২টা ৩০ মিনিটে নর্থডাউন রোড থেকে তাদের মৃতদেহ উদ্ধার করা হয়। তাদের হত্যা করা হয়েছে বলে ধারনা করছে পুলিশ। এমনকি নিহত মা, মেয়ে এবং হত্যাকারী একে অন্যের সঙ্গে পরিচিত বলেও ধারণা পুলিশের।
সন্দেহভাজন হত্যাকারীকে ধরতে পুলিশ স্থানীয়দের সহযোগিতা কামনা করেছে। প্রয়োজনে ৯৯৯ এ কল করে তথ্য প্রদানের জন্যেও আহ্বান জানিয়েছে পুলিশ।
টাওয়ার হ্যামলেটসের বো থেকে একজন গ্রেফতার :
এদিকে বাঙালী অধ্যুষিত বারা টাওয়ার হ্যামলেটসের বোতে দুই বয়স্ক মহিলাকে ছুরিকাঘাতের অভিযোগে ৩৬ বছর বয়সী এক ব্যক্তিকে গ্রেফতার করেছে পুলিশ।
রোববার রাত সাড়ে ৮টার দিকে বো এলাকার পারনেল রোডে ৫৭ বছর বয়সী এক মহিলাকে ছুরিকাঘাত করা হয়। এর আগে শুক্রবার চ্যারিয়ট ক্লসে ৬০ বছর বয়সী আরেক মহিলাকে ছুরিকাঘাতের অভিযোগে বো এলাকা থেকে পুলিশ তাকে গ্রেফতার করে। তবে ৬০ বছর বয়সী মহিলাকে ছুরিকাঘাতের দায়ে ৫১ বছর বয়সী আরেক পুরুষকে গ্রেফতার করেছিল পুলিশ। তাকে রোববার জামিনে মুক্তি দেওয়া হয়েছে।
তবে দুই মহিলাকেই হাসপাতালে প্রাথমিক চিকিৎসা দেওয়া হয়েছে। তারা দুজনই ঝুকিমুক্ত রয়েছেন।
Mother and daughter stabbed to death in Birmingham
A 49-year-old mother and her 22-year-old daughter have been stabbed to death in a street in Solihull.
West Midlands Police said they were treating the deaths of the pair, who were found in Northdown Road just after 00:30 BST, as murder.
Officers said a suspect – said to be known to the victims – had been identified and they were “making urgent attempts to arrest him”.
The force urged anyone with information about the murders to call 999.
The area has been cordoned off while examinations are carried out.

Bow stabbings: Man, 36, arrested
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after two lone women were stabbed in east London.
A 57-year-old woman was taken to hospital after she was stabbed several times in Parnell Road, Bow, shortly before 20:30 BST on Sunday.
A woman aged in her 60s also required hospital treatment when she was attacked in Chariot Close on Friday.
Police said a 36-year-old man had been arrested earlier in Bow on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder.
The woman who was attacked on Friday was stabbed beside a children’s playground as she returned home having bought fish and chips.
A 51-year-old man who was held on suspicion of GBH on Sunday has been released under investigation pending further inquiries.
Neither of the two women’s injuries are life threatening.
