ব্রিটবাংলা ডেস্ক : ইস্ট লন্ডনে ১৬ বছরের এক কিশোরীকে ধর্ষনের দায়ে ২৭ বছর বয়সী আরিফ খান নামে এক ব্যক্তিকে জেল দিয়েছে আদালত। বৃহস্পতিবার ওল্ডবেইলি কোর্টে দোষী সাব্যস্তের পর আরিফকে ৫ বছর ৬ মাসের জেলদন্ড দেন বিচারক।
আদালত জানিয়েছে, গত বছরের ২০ ফেব্রুয়ারী ধর্ষনের শিকার কিশোরীকে এডমন্টনের একটি হোটেলে নিয়ে যান আরিফ খান। হোটেল রুমে ধর্ষনের আগে কিশোরীকে মদ খাওয়ান আরিফ।
২৩ শে ফেব্রুয়ারী কিশোরীর পক্ষ থেকে ধর্ষনের ঘটনা পুলিশকে জানানো হয়। এরপর বিষয়টি নিয়ে তদন্ত শুরু করে চাইল্ড এবিউস এন্ড সেক্সুয়াল অফেন্স টিম। তদন্ত শুরুর ৬ দিন পর এডমন্টন পুলিশ স্টেশনে গিয়ে হাজির হন আরিফ খান। তিনি ১৬ বছরের কিশোরীর সঙ্গে হোটেল রুমে যৌন সম্পর্ক স্থাপনের কথা স্বীকার করেন। তবে কিশোরীর সম্মতিতেই যৌন মিলন হয়েছে বলে দাবী করেন আরিফ।
তবে তদন্তকারী কর্মকর্তারা বলেছেন, যৌন সম্পর্ক স্থাপনের উদ্দেশ্যেই তাকে হোটেলে নেওয়া হয়েছিল। একে চাইল্ড সেক্সুয়াল এক্সপ্লোয়েটেশন সংক্ষেপে সিএসই বা শিশু যৌন নিপীড়ন বলে বলে উল্লেখ করে তারা।
শিশু যৌন নিপীড়ন থেকে রক্ষার জন্যে নিচের বিষয়গুলো বিবেচনা করার জন্য অভিভাবকসহ সংশ্লিষ্ট সবাইকে পরামর্শ দিয়েছে পুলিশ…
* অপরিচিত বয়স্করা খাবার কিনে দিয়ে কিশোর বা কিশোরীর বন্ধু হবার চেস্টা করবে।
* কিশোর বা কিশোরীকে দিনে-রাতে অস্বাভাবিক বা উদ্ভট সময়ে হোটেলে বা নিরব, নির্জন কোন জায়গায় নিয়ে যাওয়া।
* কোন বয়স্ক লোক যদি একই জায়গায় একেক দিন একেক জন অর্থাৎ ভিন্ন কিশোর বা কিশোরীকে নিয়ে আসে।
* কোন কিশোর বা কিশোরী যদি কোথায় গিয়েছিল এবং কার সাথে গিয়েছিল এসব গোপন করে।
* এমন কি ঘরের মধ্যেও কোন কিশোর- কিশোরী অস্বাভাবিক বা অস্বস্তিবোধ করে।
উপরের বিষয়গুলো যে কারে চোখে ধরা পড়লে তা পুলিশকে জানাতে আহ্বান করা হয়েছে।
A man has been jailed for five and a half years for the rape of a 16-year-old girl in east London.
Arif Khan, 27 (11.02.90), of no fixed abode was sentenced on Thursday, 21 December at the Old Bailey after being found guilty of rape following a trial at the same court.
The offence took place at a hotel in Edmonton on 20 February 2016 after Khan took the victim to a room there. Having given her alcohol he then raped her.
On 23 February the incident was reported to local police and an investigation as launched by detectives from the Child Abuse and Sexual Offences (CASO) Team.
Six days later Khan attended Edmonton police station to hand himself in. He admitted he had had sex with the victim, but claimed it had been consensual.
Detective Inspector Laura Hillier of CASO said: “My officers thoroughly investigated this allegation and DC Lisa Briggs supported the young victim through a trial. This is a clear example of a common feature of child sexual exploitation (CSE) where a child is taken to a hotel and offences take place. In many cases such as this one, the young person does not recognise the dangers or see themselves as a victim. It is for this reason that CSE remains underreported.
Warning signs of CSE include:
– Adults befriending young people, including buying them food and drinks.
– Young people being picked up and taken to hotels, particularly at odd times of the day and night.
– Adults who frequently come into premises with different young people.
– Young people who appear secretive by trying to hide where they are going and who they will be with.
– Young people who, although with peers, look uncomfortable or under duress.
