ব্রিটবাংলা ডেস্ক : এক টিকেটের মুল্যে এক ঘন্টার ভেতরে শুধু এক বাস থেকে আরেক বাস নয়, ট্রাম, টিউব এবং রেলেও চলাফেরা করতে পারবেন যাত্রীরা।
২০১৬ সালের সেপ্টেম্বরে ঘোষিত ‘হোপার ফেয়ার’ নামের এই প্রজেক্টের অধিনে ১ পাউন্ড ৫০ পেন্স মুল্যের টিকিটে ৬০ মিনিটের ভেতরে বাস পরিবর্তন করা যেত সমান ব্যয়ে। এবার সেই পরিধি বাড়িয়ে দিয়েছেন লন্ডন মেয়র সাদিক খান। শুধু বাস নয়, এবার যাত্রীরা এক ঘন্টার ভেতরে দেড় পাউন্ডের টিকেট দিয়ে বাস থেকে পরিবর্তন করে ট্রাম, টিউব, রেল এবং ডিএলআরে চলাফেরা করতে পারবেন। হোপার ফেয়ার চালু হবার পর থেকে এ পর্যন্ত প্রায় ১৪০ মিলিয়ন ভ্রমন হয়েছে বলে মেয়র জানিয়েছেন।
এদিকে টিএফএল অর্থাৎ ট্রান্সপোর্ট ফর লন্ডন জানিয়েছে, শুধু উইকডেতেই প্রায় ৩শ ৫০ হাজার ভ্রমন হয়েছে ‘হোপার ফেয়ার’ এর মাধ্যমে। বৃহস্পতিবার থেকে গ্রেটার লন্ডনের ভেতরে ডিএলআর, লন্ডন ওভারগ্রাউন্ড, বাস, ট্রাম, টিএফএল রেইল, ইমিরাটস এয়ারলাইন, রিভার বাস অথবা ন্যাশনাল রেইল সার্ভিসে হোপার ফেয়ার দিয়ে হোপার জার্নি করতে পারবেন যাত্রীরা। তবে টিএফএল সতর্ক করে জানিয়েছে, যাদের পে এস ইউ গো ওয়েস্টার কার্ডে মাইনাস ব্যালান্স থাকবে তারা হোপার জার্নি করলেও হোপার ফেয়ার পরিশোধ করতে পারবেন না। পে এস ইউ গো কার্ডে পরিপূর্ন ব্যালান্স নিয়ে হোপার জার্নির জন্যে হোপার ফেয়ার নেবে টিএফএল।
London bus and tram ‘hopper fare’ expanded
Londoners can now make as many bus and tram journeys within an hour for the price of just one ticket.
The upgraded “hopper fare” allows passengers to make unlimited changes within 60 minutes for £1.50.
Sadiq Khan said more than 140 million journeys have been made using the scheme since it was introduced in September 2016.
Before Wednesday, the fare allowed passengers to change on to one other bus or tram within an hour of starting their journey.
Passengers can travel by Tube or rail in between bus journeys and still benefit from the hopper fare.
According to Transport for London (TfL), about 350,000 journeys were made every weekday using the hopper fare, which allowed two bus and tram journeys to be made in an hour for a single fare.
On the upgrade, TfL in statement said: “You can now travel on Tube, DLR, London Overground, TfL Rail, Emirates Air Line, River Bus or National Rail services between Hopper journeys, and Hopper fares will still apply.”
“Hopper fares will not apply if your Oyster card has a negative pay as you go balance after the first journey. If you clear the negative balance within one hour of touching in, subsequent journeys made within the hour will still be free.”
