Don’t lose your right to vote

Tower Hamlets Council is carrying out its annual canvass to ensure the electoral register is up to date.

Every property has been sent a Household Enquiry Form (HEF) and reminders have now been sent to the non-responding properties which must be returned by 3 October.

Only 33 per cent of households in Tower Hamlets have responded so far – despite it being a legal requirement to do so.

Failure to provide the required information could result in a £1,000 fine.

Returning the information ensures that residents can vote in elections, credit agencies receive the information for credit checking and the data is also used for jury service summoning.
