First British Bangladeshi to receive Global Data Privacy Award

A leading EU GDPR Privacy expert has been awarded the designation ‘Fellow of Information Privacy’ (FIP). Jamal Ahmed, founder of Kazient Privacy Experts which is headquartered in London, was recognised by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) as a leader in Data Privacy this month.

The IAPP has strict criteria for awarding the Fellow of Information Privacy designation and requires achieving at least two IAPP credentials including Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) status, considerable on the job experience and recommendations from other Privacy professionals. Ahmed is the first British Bangladeshi to be awarded the Fellow of Information Privacy and joins a highly select group of professionals worldwide who hold the FIP designation.

Kazient Privacy Experts was founded in 2014 to help businesses understand and comply with Data Protection and Privacy regulations ‘in a language you understand’. Through Jamal’s leadership, Kazient has received regular positive media coverage across Europe and has recently been shortlisted for the British Business Awards 2019.

Kazient provide GDPR consultancy services to businesses in the UK and beyond, and due to Brexit have just opened a new office in Dublin to act as the EU Representative for UK companies.

Being awarded the FIP demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of privacy laws, privacy program management and essential data protection practices. “‘I’m sincerely humbled and would like to thank the IAPP for recognising me with this award,” said Ahmed, “It’s an honour to be the first British Bangladeshi to be appointed a Fellow of Information Privacy and I am pleased that the work I do for my clients at Kazient Privacy Experts is being recognised for its expertise.”

The IAPP, a not for profit organisation, was founded in 2000 and is the largest and most comprehensive global information privacy community that helps define, support and improve the privacy profession globally.
