ব্রিটবাংলা রিপোর্ট : যতোটা দ্রুত সময়ের ভেতরে গ্রেনফেল টাওয়ারের অগ্নিকান্ডে ক্ষতিগ্রস্তরা দু’মাস আগে ঘোষিত সাহায্যের অর্থ পাওয়ার কথা, সেই সময়ের ভেতরে তা পাচ্ছে না বলে জানিয়েছে ক্যাম্পেইনাররা। গ্রেনফেল টাওয়ারে ক্ষতিগ্রস্তদের জন্য প্রায় ১৮ দশমিক ৯ মিলিয়ন পাউন্ড সংগৃহীত হলেও সর্বমোট অর্থের মাত্র ১৫ শতাংশ তাদের হাতে পৌঁছেছে বলে জানিয়েছে ইংল্যান্ড এন্ড ওয়েলসের চ্যারিটি কমিশন। ক্ষতিগ্রস্তদের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগের ক্ষেত্রে সমস্যা এবং ক্ষতিগ্রস্তদের কেউ কেউ এই অর্থ সাহায্য নিতে এগিয়ে না আসাও এর অন্যতম কারণ বলে মনে করছে কমিশন। গত ৮ সপ্তাহে মাত্র ২ দশমিক ৮ মিলিয়ন পাউন্ড ক্ষতিগ্রস্তদের মাঝে হস্তান্তর করা হয়েছে বলে কমিশন জানিয়েছে।
যদিও গত ১৪ জুন প্রথম প্রহরে গ্রেনফেল টাওয়ারের অগ্নিকান্ডের পর ক্ষতিগ্রস্তদের সহযোগিতা করতে সরকারী ও বেসরকারি বিভিন্ন সংস্থা ফান্ড রেইজ করেছে। এর মধ্যে রেডক্রস এবং কেনসিংটন এন্ড চেলসি ফাউন্ডেশন আলাদা আলাদাভাব ৫ দশমিক ৭৫ মিলিয়ন পাউন্ড করে রেইজ করেছে। অন্যদিকে ইভিনিং স্ট্যান্ডার্ড ৬ দশমিক ৭ মিলিয়ন পাউন্ডের বেশি রেইজ করেছে।
সংগৃহীত এসব অর্থ প্রদানের বিষয়টি তদারকি করছে লন্ডন ইমার্জেন্সি ট্রাস্ট। গত জুলাইয়ে এক ঘোষনায় এই সংস্থাটি জানিয়েছিল, তারা প্রাথমিকভাবে ৩টি ক্যাটাগরিতে ক্ষতিগ্রস্তদের মাঝে এই অর্থ বিতরণ করবে।
গ্রেনফেল টাওয়ারে অগ্নিকান্ডে এ পর্যন্ত ৮০ জন মৃত্যুবরণ করেছেন বলে নিশ্চিত করা হয়েছে। যারা মারা গেছেন তাদের স্বজনদের সহযোগিতা করতে প্রাথমিকভাবে ২০ হাজার পাউন্ড করে দেওয়া হয়। অগ্নিদগ্ধ হয়ে যারা এক সপ্তাহের বেশি সময় হাসপাতালে ছিলেন তাদের দেওয়া হয় ১০ হাজার পাউন্ড করে। আরা ৬ ঘন্টার বেশি সময় হাসপাতালে ছিলেন তাদের দেওয়া হয় সাড়ে ৩ হাজার পাউন্ড করে।
অন্যদিকে যেসব পরিবার নতুন বাড়িতে, নতুন করে জীবন যাপন শুরু করেন, সে রকম প্রতিটি পরিবারকে ১০ হাজার পাউন্ড করে গ্রান্ট দিয়েছে রাগবি পোর্টেবেলা ট্রাস্ট।
Grenfell Tower fire money ‘not reaching survivors’
Donations made since the Grenfell Tower fire in west London two months ago are not reaching survivors quickly enough, campaigners have said.
Charity Commission figures show that less than 15% of the £18.9m raised has been given to people who lost their homes and loved ones.
The commission said there were initial difficulties contacting those affected, and others had yet to come forward.
The latest Charity Commission figures, eight weeks on from the fire, show only £2.8m has been handed out.
The commission regulates charities and charitable funds in England and Wales.
Millions of pounds worth of donations were pledged by concerned members of the public in the days following the Grenfell fire in the early hours of 14 June, which claimed at least 80 lives.
The Red Cross and the Kensington and Chelsea Foundation each raised £5.75m, and the Evening Standard newspaper fund collected more than £6.7m.
The London Emergencies Trust, which was overseeing the channelling of those funds, announced in July that it was processing three types of interim payment.
They were:
£20,000 to the next of kin of those who died in the fire
£10,000 to those hospitalised for a week or more
£3,500 to those hospitalised for more than six hours
A “fresh start” grant of £10,000 per family when they are permanently rehoused is also being distributed by the Rugby Portobello Trust. #Source#BBC#
