ব্রিটবাংলা ডেস্ক : গ্রেটার লন্ডনের পশ্চিম সাসেক্সে লেভেল ক্রসিংয়ে ট্রেইন ও গাড়ির সংঘর্ষে দুজন নিহত হয়েছেন। শনিবার সকাল ৮টা ৪৭ মিনিটের দিকে এই ঘটনা ঘটে।
পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, হরশাম এলাকার ইমস লেইনের বার্নস গ্রিন লেভেল ক্রসিংয়ে আটকে যাওয়া একটি গাড়ির সঙ্গে ট্রেইনের সংঘর্ষ হয়। এতে গাড়ির ড্রাইভার এবং যাত্রী ঘটনাস্থলেই নিহত হন। তবে ঘটনায় ট্রেনযাত্রীদের কেউ হতাহত হননি। ব্রিটিশ ট্রান্সপোর্ট পুলিশ এবং সাসেক্স পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থলে উপস্থিত আছে।
সাউদার্ন ট্রেন সার্ভিস জানিয়েছে, এ ঘটনার ফলে দিনভর এই লাইনে ট্রেন সার্ভিসে ব্যাঘাত ঘটতে পারে। তবে হর্শাম থেকে পালবরো স্টেশন পর্যন্ত ট্রেনের বিকল্প হিসেবে বাস সার্ভিস চালু করা হয়েছে। প্যারামেডিকস টিম ট্রেনের সব যাত্রীদের পরীক্ষা নিরীক্ষা করেছে। সবাই সুস্থ্য আছেন।

Two dead after car hit by train on crossing
Two people have died after a car was struck by a train at a level crossing in West Sussex.
Emergency services were called to Barns Green level crossing, in Emms Lane, Horsham, at 08:47 GMT.
The two who died were the driver and passenger in the car. No-one on the train was hurt.
Southern said rail services would be affected for the rest of the day, with buses replacing trains between Horsham and Pulborough.
Officers from British Transport Police (BTP) attended alongside Sussex Police and paramedics.
BTP said the two people were pronounced dead at the scene and officers are “working to identify them and inform their family”.
The force added: “At present, officers are currently examining the scene to establish the circumstances which led to the car being struck.”
Paramedics said they walked through the train to check on passengers and ensure no-one was injured.
The Rail Accident Investigation Branch has been informed.
Many of the train passengers were taken to the nearby Sumners Ponds campsite, where they were given hot drinks.
Two of them, Sinitta and Beverley, told BBC Sussex there had been a fire after the crash.
“The train stopped suddenly and then people started screaming,” they said.
“Then we saw the fire so we moved up the train, and they evacuated the train.”
