ব্রিটবাংলা রিপোর্ট : নির্বাচনের প্রায় দুই সপ্তাহ পরে অবশেষে একটি মাইনোরিটি সরকার গঠনে প্রধানমন্ত্রী থেরিজা মে-কে সহযোগিতা করতে চুক্তিতে পৌঁছেছে ডেমোক্র্যাটিক ইউনিয়নিস্ট পার্টি এবং কনজারভেটিভ। চুক্তি অনুযায়ী পার্লামেন্টে ব্রেক্সিট এবং নিরাপত্তা বিষয়ক যে কোনো বিল পাশের সময় ডিইউপির ১০ এমপি টোরি পার্টির পক্ষে ভোট দেবেন। তবে এর বিনিময়ে আগামী ২ বছরের জন্যে অতিরিক্ত ১ বিলিয়ন পাউন্ড অর্থ বরাদ্দ দিতে হবে নর্দার্ন আয়ারল্যান্ডকে।
ডিউপি লিডার আরলেইন ফস্টার এই চুক্তিকে নর্দার্ন আয়ারল্যান্ড এবং ইউকের জন্যে দীর্ঘমেয়াদী এবং ভালো একটি চুক্তি বলে মন্তব্য করেছেন। তবে লেবার লিডার জেরেমি করবিন সমালোচনা করে বলেছেন, এটা পরিস্কার যে এই চুক্তি জাতির বৃহত কোনো স্বার্থে করা হয়নি। নর্দার্ন আয়ারল্যান্ডর বিরোধী দল সিফেইনের গ্যারি এডামস বলেছেন, গুড ফ্রাইডের মতে টোরি ব্রেক্সিটের সমাপ্তি ঘটাবে এই চুক্তি।
টোরি সরকারের সঙ্গে ডিউপির ৩ পৃষ্ঠার চুক্তিপত্রটি ডিউপির ওয়েব সাইটে প্রকাশ করা হয়েছে। তাতে বলা হয়, গত ৫ বছরের টার্ম ধরে চুক্তিটি সম্পন্ন হয়েছে। তবে আগামী ২ বছর পরে তা আবার রিভিউ হবে।
এদিকে এই চুক্তির শর্ত হিসেবে নর্দার্ন আয়ারল্যান্ড আগামী দুই বছরের ভেতরে অতিরিক্ত আরো ১ বিলিয়ন পাউন্ড বরাদ্দ পাবে। এর আগে আরো ৫শ মিলিয়ন পাউন্ড বরাদ্দ ছিল। সব মিলিয়ে আগামী দুই বছরে নর্দার্ন আয়ারল্যান্ডের অবকাঠামোগত উন্নয়ন, স্বাস্থ্য এবং শিক্ষাখাতে উন্নয়ন ব্যয় হিসেবে আগামী দুই বছরের ভেতরে ১ দশমিক ৫ বিলিয়ন পাউন্ড বরাদ্দ পাবে নর্দার্ন আয়ারল্যান্ড।
An agreement has been reached
An agreement has been reached which will see the Democratic Unionist Party back Theresa May’s minority government.
The deal, which comes two weeks after the election resulted in a hung Parliament, will see the 10 DUP MPs back the Tories in key Commons votes.
There will be £1bn extra for Northern Ireland over the next two years.
DUP leader Arlene Foster said the “wide-ranging” pact was “good for Northern Ireland and the UK” but one critic said it was a “straight bung”.
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said the deal was “clearly not in the national interest”, and Sinn Fein’s Gerry Adams said it enabled a “Tory Brexit which threatens the Good Friday Agreement”.
It has prompted calls for matching public investment in Wales and Scotland.
A three page document outlining the terms of the agreement has been published in full. The DUP said it would apply for the lifetime of the Parliament, scheduled to last five years, but would also be reviewed at the end of the current session in two years time.
There will be £1.5bn in funding – consisting of £1bn of new money and £500m of previously announced funds – to be spent over the next two years on infrastructure, health and education in Northern Ireland.#source#BBC#
