Reception of Dr Enamul Haque Shordar & Dr Razia Sultana Chowdhury: Working towards an enlightened society

A reception was hosted by news portal Bisshobanglanews24.com in honour of visiting Dr Razia Sultana Chowdhury, Associate Professor of Shahjalal Science Technology University and Dr Enamul Haque Shordar, Principal of Imran Ahmad Women’s Degree College & Founder Chairman of Shahjalal City College.

Chief Guest at the event Tower Hamlets Speaker Cllr Sabina Aktar said, ‘I am impressed at the work carried out by two members of the same family in the education sector in enlightening society.’ She added, as our roots are in Bangladesh we cooperate between Bangladesh and the UK for the overall development of our country and the welfare of the people.

Dr Enamul Haque Shordar said, ‘The foundation of overall development of a country is in its education and for that reason for the past twenty five years we have been working for the people and the greater benefit of our society.’

Dr Razia Sultana Chowdhury said that as a teacher of Shahjalal Science Technology University and the daughter of Sylhet town her efforts will continue. She added, ‘In the context of our great War of Liberation expatriates played powerful role towards establishing Bangladesh.’

The reception was held on Tuesday, 27 June, at the Microbusiness Centre, East London. The Reception meeting was presided over by Bisshobanglanews24.com‘s advisor Goyas Ahmed Chowdhury and conducted by Bisshobanglanews24.com editor Shah Mustafijur Rahman Belal. Opening speech was made by Jagannathpur Times editor and former Principal of Syedpur Adarsha College Mohammed Shahed Rahman, Chairman of Brick Lane Trust Shah Munim, former Deputy Mayor Md Shahid Ali, Professor Shah Jahan, Abdul Basir, executive editor of BritBangla24.com Ahad Chowdhury Babu, executive director of Bangladesh Centre Jahangir Khan, Bisshobanglanews24.com‘s advisor Ansar Ahmad Ullah, Uttorpurbo’s UK correspondent Matiar Chowdhury, assistant editor of Weekly Janomot Musleh Uddin Ahmed, community leader Samuj Ali Chowdhury, Liberation War Youth Command’s general secretary Muhibur Rahman Kawsar amongst others. In addition, at the end of the programme, as an added attraction Dr Enamul Haque Shordar’s elderly mother, Saleha Khatun, passionate & nostalgic speech was appreciated and enjoyed by all.
