After having a thrilling time with the Press Club and enjoying the trip thoroughly I needed to write something about the amazing trip we all loved.
It was 20th August 2017 and I had just come back from Birmingham with my family from a week holiday and was ready to venture with the Press Club to go to Margate Seaside in Thanet, Kent.
With the kids sun lotion and towels packed and loaded all of us were excited to endure some sunshine. This was all thanks to the Press Club whom organise these trips annually, so I am grateful for them!
However the departure time was 10:00 am and the kids woke up just a bit earlier than that so we had to rush without breakfast.
Nonetheless we walked fast to East London Mosque where there were 3 coaches waiting where this was the meeting point which fits its name as it is arguably the heart of Tower Hamlets.
My family and I was checked in by coach number 3,so we went inside to wait for everybody else to start our journey to the beach.
On board was a mixture of Press Club members such as LBPC Vice President Mahbub Rahman, Assistant Secretary Muhammad Subhan, Entertainment Secretary – Towhid Ahmed, Executive member and Bangla TV presenter Rupi Amin, Channel S News presenter Munira Parvin,and Brit Bangla Executive Editor, Ahad Chowdhury Babu and LBPC member and BBC journalist Maruf Ahmed.
Brit Bangla community Editor Rezaul Karim Mrida and Taysir Mahmud hosted the whole coach trips entertainment, this included drama, poetry, jokes and singing. This trip gave back a strong nostalgia feeling of my childhood where I would sing along with my friends and joke about.
The entertainment was fresh and funny so that nobody would fall into the depths of boredom while sitting on the coach and I participated in singing a couple of times to revitalise everyone’s mood and I soon got a few people singing along. Before reaching the destination it was announced that I was one of the winners for an Entertainment Prize, this made me excited and really curious for what the prize would later be.
We finally reached the beach thanks to the coach driver and we spotted the beach occupied by hundreds of thousands of beach dwellers and tourists vacating the golden sand beneath their feet.
The fun had only begun while stepping onto the beach – kids were creating sand castles and collecting colourful sea shells, the women were enjoying their time sitting under the warm vibrant sun and touching the blue ocean water, the men were diving into the sea playing hand ball and tackling each other down while laughing about.

It was the end of the day for this wonderful trip and it was finally time to announce the winners and the prizes. This was a first in my life to be gifted such an interesting and funny prize – I was prized with a bag of baby potatoes! Individually everyone got cabbages, sweet potatoes, pumpkins, carrots and chillies as their prize. This was really clever and funny I must admit as everyone had a big laugh.

As well as this I want to say a special thanks to LB24 TV who was broadcasting live the trip the whole day and the missing Press Club members who unfortunately couldn’t make it.
This trip made me produce a lot of enjoyment, fun and realise there are a lot more places to unlock and explore.
